I know it's been a while since I posted but I've officially made the move to New York and things have been crazy. In the city that never sleeps it is most definitely impossible to find time to sleep. There's too much to do, too many restaurants to try, too much nightlife to explore, too many blocks to wander, and not enough money to spend, but one city could not be more perfect.

This place is a giant manufactured concrete block. It's anything but natural, yet entirely human; a cosmopolitan self-sustaining world, as densely populated twenty stories up as it is on ground level.
I have tons to post from my time so far in the city, but this post is dedicated to 5Pointz, one of New York's best art exhibits, and a landmark I pass on each venture down to the city from Boston.
5Pointz is a giant warehouse in Queens, located conveniently near train yards of Amtrak and freight cars, and just next to the 7 train from Manhattan. The building owner, a supporter of the art, gives permission to graffiti artists to come paint and tag the roof and sides of the property. Even from a distance, the site is awe-inspiring. 5Pointz is a must see for anyone visiting the city with an interest in art and an afternoon to kill.

Brough to the area because of 5Pointz, the surrounding neighborhood has attracted graffiti writers and street artists. Venturing out a few blocks from the building, graffiti is just as prevalent and creative as it is at 5Pointz. The next four photos show some un-sponsored graffiti thrown up around the neighborhood.

We were fortunate enough to go on a busy day. Music blasting, cameras rolling, the courtyard at 5Pointz was bustling with activity. Below, two artists work together on a huge wild-style tag on the side of the building.

Artists represented on these walls included many familiar names from around the city, and writers whose tags I've posted before on the blog, including Semz, Poke, PK, and Kid.
